Janet Joyce Roberts
Janet Joyce Roberts, 96, of Bethesda, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Emerald Pointe Nursing & Rehab. She was born on February 12, 1928, in Bethesda, Ohio to the late George and Pearl (Holden) Mead.
She was an avid book reader and loved to play cards, scrabble, dominos, and puzzles. She loved having family get togethers and spent countless hours entertaining her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Lucas Porter; brother, Marman Mead and a sister, Kitty Graham; son-in-law, Howard Carpenter, John Lucas, and Bill Speakman; daughter-in-law, Vicki Powell; and brother-in-law, Malvern Campbell.
Janet is survived by seven children, Pete (Lora) Powell of Woodsfield, Joyce Speakman of Circleville, Joanne Carpenter of Barnesville, Beverly (Hobie) Wilson of Bethesda, Bobbi Price of Bethesda, Robert Powell of Bethesda, and William (Kris) Powell of Bethesda; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward Mead of Deleware and William Mead of Bethesda; sister, Rosemary Campbell of Bethesda; and many nieces & nephews.
In honoring Janet’s wishes, there will be no services held. Janet’s care has been entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
