Marjorie Ann Morris
Marjorie Ann Morris, a beacon of warmth and selflessness, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, in Quaker City, at the age of 84. Born on May 31, 1940, in Belmont County, Marjorie’s life was a testament to love, friendship, and dedication to her family and community.
Marjorie’s journey began as the cherished daughter of Charles Archer and Wilda (Howell) Bennington. Her life was enriched by the love of her late husband, Herman Franklin Morris, and she found joy in the lives of her children. Though she was preceded in death by her husband, her sons Thomas and William Morris, and her great-grandson Caiden Pollock, her legacy continues through her loving family.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Charles Morris of Barnesville and Dale Morris of the home; her daughters, Louise Morse Sarchet and Brenda (Bill) Clouse, both of the home; her brothers, Charles “Butch” (Valerie) Bennington of Kentucky and Dale (Madeline) Bennington of North Carolina; her sisters, Betty Jean Carpenter of Old Washington and Cheryl (Ralph) Sells of Lore City. Marjorie’s memory will also be cherished by her fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, numerous great friends, and her loyal dog, Buddy.
Marjorie’s professional life was spent as a dedicated prep cook at Bob Evans, where she delighted in serving others.
A proud member of the VFW Post 2792 in Barnesville, Marjorie’s community spirit was evident in her involvement and support. Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with those around her.
Marjorie’s interests reflected her loving and friendly nature. She found pleasure in cooking, playing cards, and cheering on the Ohio State football team. Her presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Quaker City from 6-8PM. Additional visitation will be held the following day, Friday, December 13, 2024, from 12-1PM with the service to immediately follow at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Quaker City with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Burial will be held at Friends Cemetery.
