Recent presenters at the Barnesville Kiwanis Club included Candi Atkinson who gave an informative & impressive program on her career as an Occupational Therapist & a fitness instructor.
Atkinson shared personal struggles and how she overcame the effects of a stroke with hard work & physical activity. She also explained how she helps others in her therapy programs.
On February 3, Tami Bostic shared information on Sunrise Acres, group homes located off the old National Road between SR 800 and the village of Fairview located at 66433 Sunrise Acres Drive.
Each of the sites two homes provides private apartments for residents with developmental disabilities.
Bostic indicated the largest expense for the facility is purification of water drawn from the ponds on the property. She said the board that directs Sunrise Acres is encouraged by the news water service from Barnesville may come in the next several years.
The club has set the date of Thursday, April 24 for the Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser. The event takes place in the basement of the Assumption Catholic Church.’
