Belmont County Senior Services Newsletter

Senior Citizen Newsletter Online. The monthly distributed by the Belmont County Committee on Aging is now available online free of charge to subscribers.  The March edition is now available online. Print copies may be picked up at individual centers in the coming month.

There are four Senior Citizen Centers in western Belmont County:

Barnesville – 229 E. Main Street, Kay Driscoll, coordinator, and J.B. Flood, driver

Bethesda – 118 S. Main Street, Sue Hines, coordinator, and J.B. Flood, driver

Centerville – 44642 Main Street (Jacobsburg mailing address), Donna Steadman, coordinator, and Bonnie Borovich, driver

Flushing – 208 High Street, Maxine Jurovcik, coordinator; Lee Nichol, driver

In the March newsletter, The Golden Times, the agency reported the meals program prepares and delivers 1,100 meals each weekday. There are 11 delivery routes with each driver covering approximately from 45-110 miles distributing an average of 100 meals.      

Barnesville Junior Women’s Club News   

Mandy Bishop

At the Wednesday, February 19, 2025, members of the Barnesville Junior Women’s Club heard from Mandy Bishop’s personal journey about why she is committed to creating a group where military moms, families, community members, and veterans could get together to support each other and our veterans. The local chapter is the Blue Star Mothers of Belmont County, OH65. Bishop serves as the group’ founder and president.

The Junior Women’s Club will host the club’s annual Designer Purse Bash. Proceeds from the event permits the group to sponsor and support many community causes and events.

Only 150 tickets are sold for this event that will take place Sunday, April 6 at the Barnesville Elks Lodge with the first drawing at 1:00.  Tickets purchased by March 25, $25, $30 afterwards. Cash only. The event will also include a country store 50/50, raffle, what not table, Michael Kors raffle, grand prize and concession stand.
