Early Monday Morning at around 6:00 am, a structure fire in the village of Holloway was battled by several area departments.
Located in the 400 block of Ashton Street in an area commonly called Bethel Hill, departments were challenged by low water pressure due to the elevation of the structure.
The Tanker Task Force was put to use to get ample water to the fire.
The residents of the structure, a man and a woman, along with two pets escaped unharmed. They were awakened by their dog’s barking as smoke filled the house. However, they lost all of their belongings. A Go Fund Me Account has been established to assist the family. It is accessible on the Holloway Methodist Church Facebook page. Donations of items and clothing are also being accepted by the church.
Departments responding to provide mutual assistance and as part of the Belmont County Tanker Task Force included Holloway, Moorefield Twp., Freeport, Cumberland Trail, Barnesville, Belmont, Morristown and Wolfhurst.
