Fairview, Hendrysburg Water Project Meeting

Belmont County and the Village of Fairview, in Guernsey County, intends to apply to the Ohio Department of Development for funding under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Residential Public Infrastructure Grant Program (RPIG), a federally funded program administered by the State of Ohio, for the construction of a waterline extension from the Village of Barnesville public water system to the areas of Hendrysburg and Mt. Olivett Road in Belmont County and the Village of Fairview in Guernsey County. The County and Village may each be eligible for up to $750,000 of the FY 2025 CDBG RPIG allocation, provided they meet applicable requirements.

The first of two (2) public hearings will be held May 20, 2025, at 7:00 pm at the Pennyroyal Opera House 198 Fair Avenue, Fairview, OH, to provide citizens with pertinent information about the CDBG programs, including the eligible activities and program requirements.

Citizens of the Hendrysburg, Mt. Olivett Road and the Village of Fairview and other interested persons of Belmont and Guernsey County are encouraged to attend this meeting.

CDBG programs can fund a broad range of activities, including economic development projects, street, water supply, drainage and sanitary sewer improvements, park acquisition and improvements, demolition of unsafe structures, rehabilitation of housing, and neighborhood facilities. The activities must be designed to primarily benefit low-and moderate-income people, aid in prevention or elimination of slums and blight, or meet an urgent need of the community.

By Order of the Belmont County Commissioners and the Village of Fairview
