Contestants Pull in 60 Fish

The weather was perfect Saturday morning as 37 contestants tried their luck hooking and pulling fish out of Barnesville Memorial Park’s Rotary Lake during the Marlin Harper Memorial Special Olympics Fishing Tournament. The annual event is hosted by the Barnesville Rotary Club and co-sponsored by the Union Local Rotary.
In the end the largest number of fish was caught by Joey McKelvoy, followed by Conner D, and Austin McGinnes in third place.
The largest or “biggest” fish was caught by David Wagner, second place by Alex S. and third by Ron Donnley.

Following the tournament and awards ceremony, participants and student volunteers were served lunch at the Rotary Shelter. All registered contestants received a free T-shirt and a fishing rod.
