Captina Island Kayak Paddle

Calling all kayakers and canoe enthusiasts. The Captina Conservancy is again this year sponsoring a paddle to Captina Island.

Boaters will depart from the Powhatan Point Marina at 9 a.m. Sunday, July 20. The marina is located on Captina Creek near the mouth of the Ohio River for the three mile round trip.

The conservancy’s release noted, “a trip along the Ohio River is always a fun time! If you’ve never paddled the river before, this is a good chance to explore with a group. If you’ve done the trip before, come see what’s new! There’s always something different to see, from shore birds, to boats, to wildlife.”

Participants are reminded to bring their own kayak, canoe, or standup paddle board and life jacket. Cold drinks and snacks will be provided after the paddle.

RSVP for the event at contact@captina.org or call (740) 238-3415.
