Golf Events Benefit Barnesville Athletic Department and K-9 Unit

Two golfing events are set to take place this month to benefit Barnesville organizations:
the Barnesville Shamrock Athletic Department and the Barnesville Police K-9 program.

The Barnesville Athletic Department’s fifth annual golf outing launches with a noon start time on Monday, July 28, at Belmont Hills Country Club, 47080 National Rd. W, St. Clairsville. Check in begins at 10:30 a.m.
The outing will consist of a four person scramble at $500 per team, or $125 per person. There will be a 50/50, Skins, Mulligans and more. Players will have a chance to win a putter donated by the BHCC.
The event will include golf prizes from BHCC and food catered by Undo’s Family Restaurant & Catering.
Proceeds will benefit the Barnesville Shamrock Athletic Department.
The registration deadline is Monday, July 21.
Contact Brad Hannahs at 740-425-3617 to sign up a team or sponsor a hole.
Sponsoring a hole costs $100 with a deadline of July 25. Make checks payable to Barnesville Schools.

The sixth annual Barnesville K-9 golf scramble will take place from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at the Fairway River Links Golf Course, 100 Liberty St., Rayland.
The event includes 18 holes, a cart, a catered meal, snacks, drinks, alcohol and a T-shirt.
Registrations are still available, and sponsorships are needed. For more information, contact Malorie Kubat at 740-238-1153.
The Barnesville Police K9 program is largely funded by donations, so this golf scramble helps to continue the program, according to Police Chief Rocky Sirianni.
The funds will be used to purchase K-9 needs from food and equipment to training aids. Sirianni noted, “anything that the dog (Croc) or the handler needs.”
“We are grateful for everyone who takes part, helps out and supports us,” Sirianni said. “They are really the ones who keep this thing going.”
