Rulli Proclamation Praises Belmont VFD

Allie New, field representative for U.S. Congressman Michael Rulli, attended the groundbreaking for the new $3.4 million Belmont fire station Tuesday. Following the ceremony, New read a proclamation from the congressman.
“On behalf of the people of Ohio’s Sixth Congressional District, I am honored to recognize the Belmont County Fire Department on the occasion of its ground breaking ceremony for its new firehouse.
“The Belmont County Fire Department and local officials recognized a need to deliver an upgraded fire department that better meets the evolving needs of the community. The new fire station is designed to accommodate all firefighting apparatus and personnel, featuring dedicated equipment storage, office space, and gender-specific sleeping quarters and shower facilities. In addition to its operational capabilities, the facility will include a civic meeting room compliant with ADA standards, which will also function as an Emergency Operations Center during disaster events.
“This critical infrastructure investment will enhance support for firefighters across Belmont County, offering a safer and more efficient working environment. By centralizing equipment and personnel, the project has the potential to significantly reduce emergency response times and strengthen community resilience.
“Thus, with great pride, I congratulate the Belmont County Fire Department on the occasion of its groundbreaking ceremony for its new firehouse. I thank the Belmont County Fire Department first responders and staff, alongside the various local officials involved for their determined and compassionate spirit, and their service and dedication to area by providing this critical space. I wish the Belmont County Fire Department all the best in its mission.”
Joining New following the ceremony, were the area’s two state elected officials – Senator Brian Chavez and Representative Ty Moore.
