Recent Kiwanis Club Programs

Barnesville Kiwanis Club programs from July 14 through August 4 have provided members and guests with information on local nonprofit organizations and businesses.

At the August 4th meeting, Denise Adkins-Leach, current director of the Barnesville Middle School “Cutting Class for a Cure,” was program speaker. In May of this year, the fund raising event raised a record $49,194 for local cancer patient expenses.

Ellie Ewing, executive director of the Captina Conservancy, was the speaker on July 14. She shared information on the Duck Dash Bash, Science Pubs and other work of the conservation group. Bruce Yarnall was program sponsor.

The Kiwanis Club raises funds for local youth and schools. At the July 28 meeting, members voted to support the Barnesville Band uniform drive and pay for one evening band camp meal.

The club meets each Monday at 11:45 a.m. at the Main Street Barrel House, 137 E. Main Street. Visitors and prospective members are always welcome to attend.
