BHS Crowns It’s 2025 Homecoming Queen

Barnesville High School celebrated homecoming this past week. Students and staff showed their school spirit throughout the week with various fun themes. On Thursday, the assembly showcased the talents of the queen candidates, their senior escorts, and other groups. The day ended with a bonfire at Shamrock Stadium.

Friday under the lights, the Shamrocks defeated the Cadets 34-7. But the moment everyone was waiting for was during halftime when the queen candidates walked across the field and chose their boxed flowers. Many adults and students were heard making their guesses on which box held the coveted white rose.

The Homecoming Prince and Princess led the program. All of the contestants together raised $4500 for the football program. The winners were first grader Ivan Covert and third grader Amelia Leek.

When all of the queen candidates were in place, they were instructed to open their flowers. The white rose signified the queen, and the green rose designated the runner-up.
