John “J.K.” Kuhn Larrick
John Kuhn “J.K.” Larrick, 81, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at his home.
J.K. was born on March 22, 1944, in Noble County, a son of the late John R. Larrick and Tharcilla (Kuhn) Larrick-Smith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon Rominger and Ila Carpenter: a stepfather, Fred J. Smith, and his beloved Beagles, Suzy and Angel.
John was a maintenance worker, retiring from Centria. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Kirkwood, and a life member of the Hog Harley Owners Group. He loved riding and traveled on his motorcycle to all fifty states with his wife and lifelong companion Helen. He was a U.S. Army veteran and took great pride in his military service. Helen and John also traveled to eight European countries and Canada and Mexico.
He was a 1962 graduate of Summerfield High School.
John is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Helen K. (Starr) Larrick, of the home, whom he married on December 23, 1967; a son, Chris (& Mindy) Larrick of Cambridge; two grandchildren, J.R. (& Morgan) Larrick of Winterset, and Ashley (& Aaron) Jones of Lilington, NC; four great-grandchildren, Trey Larrick, Xander Jones, Scarlett Jones, and Luke Larrick; several nieces, nephews and good friends
In keeping with his final wishes, Mr. Larrick generously contributed to education and medical research through the gift of anatomical donation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Guernsey County Dog Shelter and Pound Partners.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, from 12pm to 2pm, at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge, with services at the funeral home at 2pm, provided by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
