Borrowing from the ancient idiom “Third Time’s a Charm”, Shamrock Nation hopes a trip to Wheelersburg Friday night will result in a victory for the hometown team in the Division V Region 19 semi-final playoff game.
In the previous three matchups which were won by the Pirates, the games were at home or at neutral sites.
The ‘Rocks will make the 3+ hour trip to Scioto County to take on the Pirates on their home field at 7 p.m.
The #1 Pirates easily dispatched the Morgan High Raiders Friday night, 43-3 while the Shamrocks rolled over Portsmouth, a close neighbor of the Wheelersburg community.
As two of the top teams in the Division, Barnesville and Wheelersburg received byes week one of the playoffs.
