Jody Glenn Howell

Jody Glenn Howell, much loved husband, father, pap, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend, passed away at the age of 66 on Friday, November 21, 2025 at his home. Jody was born in Barnesville, Ohio on February 24, 1959 to the late Gene Howell and Beverley (Stuckey) Wharton. 

He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Mildred (Cross) Howell and George and Mabel (Armstrong) Stuckey; and step-father, John Wharton.

Jody is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Dee Dee (Costello) Howell; daughter, Ashley (Lance) Hannahs of Barnesville and son, Dustin Howell of Barnesville; brothers Timothy (Mindy) Howell of Bethesda; Rhett Wharton of Barnesville. Grandchildren, Ayden and Christien Hannahs of Barnesville and his nieces, Sayrde (Howell) Meikle of Colorado, Chloe Howell of Bethesda and nephew, Sam Howell of South Carolina.

Jody was a truck driver for forty-two years, retiring in 2023. He was a member of the teamsters union. He had a passion for race cars, building his own in 2003 and racing at local dirt tracks. He loved his grandsons and rooted them on, as they played for the Shamrocks. He loved working on his John Deere riding mowers, tinkering on engines, and most recently his golf cart, he was a jack of all trades. He was a Ford man through and through, loved the Cleveland Browns and the Buckeyes, and very patriotic, always flying the American flag in his front yard. After retirement, he enjoyed hanging out with his friends, and eating at local restaurants. Jody didn’t know a stranger, he was known by many and loved by more.

Calling hours will be Monday, November 24, 2025 from 4-7pm. The Funeral Service will be held, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 11:00am with Pastor Rodney West officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio . Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville.
