Gerald “Jerry” John Weiksner

Gerald “Jerry” John Weiksner, 68, of Quaker City, passed away November 24, 2025 at 12:15pm, we said goodbye to the man, the myth the legend….

My father-in-law lived a simple life, but he loved deeply and gave endlessly. He found peace in his land, in the quiet, up on a hill. He never wanted anyone to worry about him, always putting his sons, his grandchildren, and especially his wife of 50 years first.

He was strong and tough, the kind of man who showed love through hard work, thoughtful gifts, and the sacrifices no one ever asked him to make. He made sure the people he loved had everything they needed, right down to making sure my mother-in-law had her cabin, her chickens, and her dogs, because that’s what made her happy. And her happiness was always enough for him.

Sundays won’t feel the same without him yelling at the football game, cheering and grumbling at the TV like the team could hear him. And family gatherings won’t feel the same without his steady presence…. the quiet, dependable heartbeat of a home he built with love.

He fought cancer with more strength than we knew, and even at the end, he tried to shield everyone else from worry. He leaves behind four sons who carry his grit, his heart, and his loyalty. He leaves behind his wife who has spent a lifetime with the man she loved.

We weren’t ready. But we are grateful.

For his love.

May he rest in peace, and may we carry him forward in the way we live, love, and take care of one another.

He was born December 25, 1956, in Cleveland, OH, son of the late Joseph and Lottie Weiksner.  He worked as a machinist for several years until his retirement and was Catholic by faith.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Weiksner; sons, Gerald Weiksner Jr., Matthew |(Sally) Weiksner, Christopher (Meredith) Weiksner, Shawn (Kristen) Weiksner; brothers, Rick (Susan) Weiksner, Tom (Rose) Weiksner, Joe Weiksner; nine grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Tina & Janice; sisters-in-law, Denise and Diane McClure; brother-in-law Ed Slavin.
