4th Annual WesBanco Shamrock Duals
This past Saturday, Barnesville hosted one of the region’s most competitive early-season wrestling showcases, the annual WesBanco Shamrock Duals. “
“This year’s event brought together six high-quality programs representing three states: two teams from Ohio, two from West Virginia and two from Pennsylvania, creating one of the most balanced and exciting fields the Duals have seen,” said Barnesville Schools administrator Clint Abbott.
Participating teams were
Ohio: Barnesville and Dalton
West Virginia: Hurricane and Wheeling Park
Pennsylvania: Waynesburg Central and Trinity Washington
Fans were treated with a full day of nonstop action, with each squad guaranteed five duals across three mats. Awards presentations immediately followed the fifth, final round.
Barnesville came in second place winning four of five rounds:
WesBanco Shamrock Duals Round 1: Barnesville – 51, Hurricane – 25
WesBanco Shamrock Duals Round 2: Barnesville – 70, Dalton – 9
WesBanco Shamrock Duals Round 3 : Barnesville – 72, Waynesburg Central – 12
WesBanco Shamrock Duals Round 4: Trinity PA – 46, Barnesville – 21
WesBanco Shamrock Duals Round 5: Barnesville – 56, Wheeling Park – 23
Complete Dual results are posted on the Baum Sports Page website.
