WesBanco Barnesville Hosts 20th “Holiday Business After Hours”
Barnesville WesBanco staff members welcomed the community in last Thursday evening for the local bank’s 20th “Holiday Business After Hours” event.
The popular Christmas season social event was first held at 101 East Main Street, the longtime home of First National Bank and WesBanco. The following year, it moved to the new office at 230 East Main Street where it has taken place every year except 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The event demonstrated branch manager and vice president John Rataizcak’s mantra as Barnesville Chamber President of “Eat, Shop, Support Local”.
Music for the evening was provided by 91-year-old Millard Neal, local legend and master of the keyboard for the event for more than 15 years.

For the 10th year running, food was provided by the students of the Barnesville High School Culinary Arts Program and their instructor Keith Baum. For the first time this year, the food selections followed a theme – “Around the World in Small Bites”.
Local wine producer Skynyr Kelly, owner of Torque Cork Wines, served as sommelier for his company’s Sangria, strawberry, mango and black currant sweet wines.

Branch manager and vice president John Rataizcak, welcomed guests and handed out door prizes provided by several local businesses including The Walton Home, Hissom’s Service Center, Avenues of Barnesville, Barnesville Vision center, Joe’s Tire, Barnesville Mothers Club, Barnesville Chamber of Commerce, Harvey Goodman Realty, Northwest Title and Wayne Schuerle – Male Maids and More.
The grand prize, a 55” flat screen television set was donated by WesBanco Securities. It was won by Barnesville State Theater president Roger Johnson and his wife, Sally Davies Johnson.
