Stella Marie Zavacky

Stella Marie Oboy Zavacky of Midway, Ohio passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, at the age of 99.

Stella was born on December 9, 1926, to the late Walter and Sophia Vicker Oboy in Maynard, Ohio. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville, Ohio. She lived a long life that witnessed nearly a century of change and met each chapter with grace, wisdom and quiet strength. Later in life, Stella was blessed to be able to build meaningful relationships with her three great grandchildren. She will be missed by her family but the memories will carry on. Stella was the last surviving member of her family of nine siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter Oboy and Sophia Vicker Oboy, her daughter in law, Paula Reline Zavacky, and her 5 sisters and 3 brothers.

She is survived by her children Kathleen (Gary) Norris, Pauline (Tom) Salem, Betty (Andy) Jakubic, and Paul Zavacky Jr., grandchildren Chris Ann (Chris) Schwanenberger, Robert Smith, Matthew (Penny) Norris and Paulette (Kevin) Ference and 3 great-grandchildren Aj Schwanenberger, Cj Schwanenberger and Emilia Norris.

Stella was a homemaker for several years and later worked at Stone & Thomas and Elder Beerman at the Ohio Valley Mall. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

As per her wishes, no visitations will be held. Final arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family.
