John Robert “Bob” Carpenter

John Robert “Bob” Carpenter, 72, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at his home. He was born on January 12, 1953 in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Lawrence G. and Catherine E. (Nelson) Carpenter.

Bob was a 1971 graduate of Barnesville High School. Following high school he enlisted into the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Barnesville Auto for over thirty years, he enjoyed being out on the farm, and was a member of the Ohio Cattleman’s Association. Bob’s heart and soul was dedicated to helping out with LIttle Rocks Football for more than 50 years.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence G. Carpenter, Jr.Bob is survived by his son, John Michael Carpenter; brother, William (Barbara) Carpenter; sisters, Julie (James) Helmkie of Napolean, Ohio and Mary Kay Skomrock of Galion, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 5:00pm until Military Honors are given at 7:00pm by the Belmont County Veterans Association at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville Ohio.
