When we ran the feature on the Big Thanksgiving Snow of 1950, Dal Wildman went looking for a photo of his late wife, Nancy Hanes Wildman, taken downtown shortly after the storm had passed. Success!

A young Nancy is shown standing between two large mounds of snow in front of the Barnesville J.C. Penney Store.

That snow could have come in handy 10 years and one month later when the popular department store was gutted by fire on Dec. 22, 1960, sixty-five years ago.
