Jeffrey Lynn Wehr

Jeffrey L. Wehr, 69, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on November 6, 1956, Jeff was raised on a beautiful farm in Batesville, Ohio, by his parents, the late John and Virginia (Neuhart) Wehr. He was a 1974 graduate of Shenandoah High School in Sarahsville, Ohio. Following graduation, Jeff entered the workforce, where he spent many years working with heavy equipment and in factory settings. He was well known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and unwavering dedication-qualities that defined both his career and his character.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Jeff was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers-faithful through even the most challenging seasons-as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes. Above all else, his greatest joy came from supporting his grandchildren. He was a familiar and proud presence on the sidelines, cheering on the Barnesville Shamrocks and Shenandoah Zeps, never missing an opportunity to encourage them and celebrate their accomplishments.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Mary (Broomhall) Wehr, whom he married on November 26, 1983. He is also survived by his deeply loved children, Aleysa (Chris) Hendershot of Barnesville and their son, Jase; and John (Adrian) Wehr of Kennonsburg and their children, Miles, Kohler, Wilder, and Avalon. He is further survived by his stepchildren, Heather (Brent) Hanshaw of Marion and their sons, Dylan and Bryce; and Seth Cline of Barnesville.

Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Carolyn (John) Stroup, John Paul (Arlene) Wehr, and Robert (Susan) Wehr, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Jeff will be remembered most for the immense pride and joy he found in watching his grandchildren grow, learn, and succeed. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially those sweet little souls who meant the world to him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeff’s memory to Hospice of Guernsey, Inc.
