Wrestlers Claim New Lexington Jimmy Wood Invitational

NEW LEXINGTON – Barnesville’s varsity wrestlers came out on top at the New Lexington Jimmy Wood Invitational Saturday. The Shamrocks’ 264.5 points far outpaced the number two hometown squad that amassed 212 points. A total of 25 teams competed.  

Shamrock wrestlers Placing:  Easton Stephen – 2nd Place at 106 lbs.; Jaxon Aberegg – 2nd at 120 lbs.; Bentley Stephen – 5th Place at 126 lbs.; Ryder King – 2nd at 138 lbs.; Colt Carpenter – 2nd at 144 lbs.; Braxton Loring – 7th Place at 165 lbs.; Hines Ford – 2nd Place at 175 lbs.; Christien Hannahs – Champion at 215 lbs.

Also placing were – Hoyt Hartshorn 3rd Place, Haden Bowman 6th Place,  Brayden Trigg 3rd Place, Austin Armstrong 2nd Place and Zach Foster 6th Place.   

Also competing Saturday were members of the Junior High Wrestling team at the OVAC Junior High Tournament. 

They claimed 5th Place in competition that took place at Union Local. 

Junior High wrestlers Placing:   

Colten Aberegg – 2nd, Jacob Ralston – 4th, Casin Mayo – 4th, Carter Abbott –2nd, and Gabe Kovalick –  2nd.
