Cambridge 5, Barnesville 4
CAMBRIDGE – Despite a four-run deficit in the fifth inning, the Shamrocks came back in the sixth, falling short, 5-4 to the Bobcats this past Friday.
Barnesville got on the board in the first inning on a Mariah Schaffer double, scoring one run.
A Cambridge home run in the left field tied the game in the third followed by a single giving Cambridge the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the fourth.
Peyton Loudin led things off in the circle for the Shamrocks. The hurler gave up five hits and five runs over six innings, striking out six and walking three.
Loudin, Emma Swan, Schaffer, and Abygail Ady each collected one hit for Barnesville. Schaffer led Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks with one run batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day.
JV Game
In the Junior Varsity contest, the Shamrocks easily tamed the Bobcats, 8-2.
