Barnesville’s Record Improves to 9-1 at Purple Rider’s Expense
MARTINS FERRY – The Shamrocks took advantage of several Purple Rider defensive miscues Wednesday evening to win 7-4 over Martins Ferry. It was the team’s 9th consecutive victory.
Dylan Blon pitched a solid 4 2/3 innings striking out 6 and walking 3 to earn the victory. Blon allowed 4 hits.
Keegan Martin pitched 2 1/3 innings in relief to earn the save. Martin allowed only 1 hit while striking out 1 and walking 1 to secure the victory.
Offensively, Barnesville collected 7 hits. They were led at the plate by Max Miller, Blake Burkhart (2 RBI), Dylan Blon (2 RBI), Parker Sobutka (1 RBI), Jaxten Swallie, Braylon Lucas, and Gunner Dudzik with a hit apiece.
There will be a rematch Friday night at Barnesville Memorial Park when the Purple Riders invade Barnesville. The first pitch is set for 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Rox Junior Varsity team lost a hard fought 3-2 contest on Wednesday at home against Martins Ferry.
The loss drops their season record to 6-4. Their rematch game will also take place Friday night at Martins Ferry at 5pm.
