Barnesville’s annual Chamber of Commerce Spring Banquet has featured many local natives over the years. In 1988, the speaker was BHS grad Larry Marmie who went on a stellar college football career at Eastern Kentucky followed by a professional football and college coaching career. At the time he spoke to the hometown crowd, he was the head coach at Arizona State.
As was typically the case in those days, the appreciative hometown crowd presented Marmie and his family Barnesville produced Lotus Glass.
This year, the Chamber continues that tradition Thursday night as ’74 BHS grad Michael Schuster, now a noted Cincinnati architect, will deliver the address.
