Panthers Fall to Barnesville in Pitching Dual
CONNORVILLE – Barnesville and Buckeye Local benefited from strong pitching Friday night with the Shamrocks coming out on top over the Panthers, 3-1, on the opponent’s field.
Barnesville’s pitcher, Peyton Loudin, recorded 13 strike outs, surrendered three hits and one run in seven innings, while walking a mere two batters.
Karlie Lander pitched for Buckeye Local, giving up six hits and three runs. She struck out eight while issuing no walks.
Barnesville opened the scoring in the top of the fourth. With two runners on board thanks to two singles, Roselyne Anderson singled, scoring one run.
Outfielder Becklee Oliver led the Shamrocks with two runs, going 2-for-3. The Shamrocks committed no errors.
Danika Bauknecht hit a solo inside the park home run in the bottom of the seventh for Buckeye Local, the Panther’s only run. Lander, Bauknecht and Lexi Neilly each collected one hit for the Panthers.
The Lady Shamrocks will be busy in the remainder of the week beginning with an away game at Sarahsville against Shenandoah Tuesday afternoon.
Wednesday the team will participate in a Buckeye 8 playoff game at Harrison Central and will end the week at home Friday against the Fort Frye Cadets.
