William “Bones” Armstrong
illiam “Bones” Armstrong, 80, of Lore City, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, after a sudden illness.
Bill was born on October 22, 1945, in Cambridge, a son of the late Howard Burgess and Ruth LaFerne (Williams) Armstrong.
Bill was a mechanic throughout his life, working on heavy equipment for companies including Sidwell Brothers, Quinn Development, Kimble Clay and Limestone, and Oxford Mining, as well as repairing any variety of machinery for friends and neighbors. He loved the outdoors, whether hunting or just taking care of his yard. He especially enjoyed trips to Colorado for Elk Hunting and spending time with friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon (Minder) Armstrong, whom he married on January 25, 1969; his daughters, Robin (Kurt) Ronk of Cambridge, and Jennifer (Kevin) Harpham of Fairlawn; his brothers, James (Connie Moore) Armstrong of Wooster, and Brent (Teresa) Armstrong of Lore City; two grandchildren, Timothy Harpham and Kate Harpham; and many dear friends. Bones will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In honor of Bill’s wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration of life may be held at a later date.
