Late Scores Seal Shamrocks’ Fate in Buckeye 8 Championship Play
Harrison Central – 5, Barnesville – 3
CADIZ – Wednesday’s game against Harrison Central was a heartbreaker for Barnesville as they lost the lead late at Cadiz. The game was tied at three at the bottom of the fifth when the Huskies scored two runs.
Ella Betts led the Shamrocks with two hits in three at bat appearances.
Lillian Thomas, Kamryn Campbell, Bailey Smith, and Emma Jarvis each collected one hit for Harrison Central. Campbell and Kara Blackburn each drove in one run for Harrison Central.
Mikayla Pelegreen earned the win for Harrison Central. The starter allowed four hits and three runs in seven innings, striking out 10 and walking two.
Peyton Loudin opened the game for the Rocks. The starter allowed four hits and five runs in four and two-thirds innings while striking out one and walking two.
The game resulted in Barnesville placing in second place in the Buckeye 8 South Division.
