Allen Lloyd Fisher

Allen Lloyd Fisher of Crooksville, Ohio, peacefully entered into eternal rest at his home after a long illness while surrounded by family at 11:12 am on April 27, 2026

Allen was born August 19, 1953, in Crooksville, Ohio, to the late Ralph and Clara (Hayman) Fisher.

In his younger years, Allen worked for the Crooksville street department. He became an LPN through the Muskingum Area Joint Vocational School and then later became an RN through Ohio University-Zanesville. Allen was a nurse at Good Samaritan Medical Center and Genesis Healthcare Systems until his retirement in 2012. 

Allen enjoyed spending time with his family. In his younger years, he loved vacationing, fishing, and hiking. He loved walking at Dawes Arboretum and Hocking Hills State Park. 

Allen is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cindy Willison Fisher, of Crooksville, Ohio and his children, Lori (Shane) Smith of Zanesville, Lisa (David) Payne of New Concord, Cindy (Brian) Mayhugh of Barnesville, Amy (Derek) Horn of Crooksville, and Lindsey (Tyler) Hubbard of Roseville. Grandchildren Zachary (Samphors) Payne, Michaela (Jon) Piper, Alexis (Kyle) Ford, Ashley Smith (Sean), Madelyn (Mark) Yoder, Hayley Hoffer, Jaylynne (Karl), Drew, Drake, and Lyla Horn, Lauryn and Paige Hubbard. Great grandchildren Ellie and Zayden Payne, Mordy King, Oliver Ford, Raelynn Piper, Macklin Yoder and Maverick McAuley. Sister Roni or Ronita (Jim) Bruce and brothers Dan (Candy) Fisher and Bret (Debbie) Fisher, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Allen was proceeded in death by granddaughter Mary Ann Hoffer, sisters Barbara Huffman and Shawn Marie, and stepbrother Robert Fisher.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all the nurses and staff of Genesis Hospice for their compassionate care and guidance during Allen’s final days.

Contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Family, friends, and all who knew Allen are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026  at 11:00 am. The services will be held at Goebel Funeral Home, located at 36 N Buckeye St, Crooksville, Ohio 43731. Following funeral services, Allen will be laid to rest in Iliff Cemetery.
