Lady Shamrocks Lose to Cadets
Fort Frye – 5, Barnesville – 1
The Shamrocks could not keep pace with Fort Frye Friday at Barnesville Memorial Park.
The visitors opened the scoring in the first inning when Ella Dowler singled, scoring one run.
In the third inning, Fort Frye’s Faith Treadway homered to left field. A Barnesville error allowed a second score.
In the 7th, Lexie Handshumacher hit a solo home run for the Cadets.
The Shamrocks’ Ella Betts allowed four hits and three runs over four innings, striking out two and walking two.
Sophie Carpenter led the Shamrocks with two hits in four at bats. Barnesville had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks in the game including two each by Emma Swan, Abygail Ady and Josslyn Danehart while also accumulating six stolen bases for the game.
