Richard Hughes

Richard (Rich) A. Hughes, 66 of Ozark, Ohio passed away Friday May 15, 2026, at home. He was born June 12, 1959, in Wheeling, WV to Jo Ann and the late Donald Hughes.

He is proceeded in death by two sisters Donna Hughes and Debra Wallace. Father and mother-in-law Clarence (Dutch) & Dorothy Howell. Three sisters-in-laws, Mary Ann Yontz, Ruth Ellen Howell, and Helen Carpenter. A step grandson Colby Jozefczyk.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator from CCU Coal and a retired member of the Beallsville Volunteer Fire Dept. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, woodworking, playing cards, working in his garage and most of all spending time with his grandkids and family.

Left to cherish his memories are his of wife of 44 years Dorothy (Jean) Hughes of the home. Son Andrew (Amy) Hughes of Jerusalem, OH. Daughter Adriene (Jonathan) Jozefczyk of Avonmore, PA. Grandchildren Kordell and Nikkole Hughes of Jerusalem, OH and Step granddaughter Ava Jozefczyk, Avonmore, PA. Mother Jo Ann Hughes, Brother Donald Hughes, both of Beallsville, OH, Sister Diana (Andy) Kern of Cleveland, GA. Sister-in-law Connie (Larry) Richter of Sardis, Oh, Brother in laws John Yontz of Ozark, Oh, Rocky Carpenter of Barnesville, OH and Sam (Jane) Abbott. Several “adopted” sons and their families, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday May 19, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 20, 2026 with family friend Dr. Randy Williams officiating.   Burial will follow at Ozark Catholic Cemetery.
