Barn Artist’s Patriotic Mural Takes Shape
Last year, Scott Hagan, aka “The Barn Artist, began a huge patriotic mural filling the complete south side facade of the Barnesville VFW Post, #2972, at 129 South Chestnut Street. This year, the New Castle area artist returns to complete the work.
The mural is one of dozens dotting the downtown business district. This particular mural was a joint venture between the VFW and the village of Barnesville with financial support from a Belmont County Tourism Council grant awarded last year.
Hagan hopes to complete the project this week, weather permitting. Rain, wind and intense heat do hamper progress on the flow of work, Hagan said.
