Group Honors Ron Fuller by Planting Trees
Local members of the Buckeye Whitetail Nation (BWN) hunting club planted trees the first week of May in memory of Ron “Pappy” Fuller who was a beloved Vo-Ag teacher at Barnesville High School.
“Ron was instrumental in passing his knowledge of the great outdoors to hundreds of students over the years who were lucky enough to attend his Natural Resources class.” said Shane Skinner, president of BWN.
Seven trees were planted in total – five silver maples and two yellow weeping willows. The trees were planted at the West End Ballfields, across from Barnesville Hospital off Pultney Avenue. The planting was completed in stages throughout the week.
The group expressed thanks to Mike Burkhart of Burkhart’s Nursery for ordering the trees and setting them in the ground.
“RIP ‘Pappy’ and thanks so very much for your knowledge and guidance in making all of us better stewards of the land,” Skinner said.
