Shamrock Robotics Celebrates Successful Year
After being recognized at the Barnesville School Board meeting on May 21, the Shamrock robotics team and their families held an awards banquet in the high school cafeteria.
“The dedication, drive, and love for learning about STEM that each of these students possess is something to be recognized,” expressed Robotics Coach Brianna Holskey. At the Board meeting, Coach Holskey shared how the robotics students spent countless hours, including snow days and weekends, working on their robots.
Based on individual scores and individual things that the students do with their robots, Team A was third in the state, and Team B was ranked eighth going into the state competition. They also earned an Excellence Award and the Judges’ Award during the season.
Team A finished the state competition ranked tenth, which qualified the team for the world championship in St Louis, Missouri. The team finished 5-5.
Coach Holskey stated, “The growth I have seen in our students, both in their skills and confidence, has been incredible.”
