Driver Ejected in I-70 Truck Accident
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – The Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a tractor-trailer accident on I-70 just west of the Route 800 Interchange Monday morning. The unit, driven by Vince Schupbach, 54, of Gnadenhutten was eastbound, went through the guardrail, overturning on the steep grassy median and the westbound lanes. The driver was ejected from the cab.
Barnesville Fire and EMS was dispatched at 6:50 a.m.
According to the OSHP dispatcher, Schupbach was lifeflighted to Aultman Hospital in Canton. Tuesday morning, the patrol, did not have any additional information on the driver’s condition.
The westbound lanes of the highway were closed for sometime with the outside lane opened later as the towing company removed the cab and trailer.
