MARY ANN DELONG

1/23/42 – 6/15/26

When our mom, grandma, and great-grandma’s heart stopped, ours changed forever!

Mary Ann Delong, 84, of Palm City Florida, previous Enon, Ohio, passed away 6/15/26 at home with her son and family.

She was born at home in Calais, Ohio on January 23, 1942, a daughter of the late Richard and Shirley Delong.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an older brother Lonnie Delong, and younger sister, Darlene and Jack Starr, younger brother, Joe Delong. Also a great-grandson, Carson Michael DiGregorio.

She was a beautician and homemaker when her children were young. She went to work at Wright State University working in the admission department. She retired from Wright Patterson AFB, working in Civil Engineering.

She loved doing crafts, especially crocheting and cross stitch. After retiring she was a co-owner of a lawn mowing business. She fished FLW, semi-professional bass fishing tournaments across the US. She was one of the few women that participated and won many of the tournaments.

She was a number one fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes Football and Cincinnati Reds Baseball teams.

She is survived by a daughter, Pam Lykins of Enon, Ohio, and a son Chris and Heidi Lykins of Palm City, Florida. A younger sister, Josie and Wayne Back of Barnesville, Ohio, and younger brother, Charlie and Kris Delong of Lewisville, Ohio.

Also surving are eight grandchildren: Travis and Erica Shoemaker, Amber DiGregorio and Mike Mullins, Lacie Hannahs and Fee Sabol, Kelsey Lykins, Emma Lykins, Dylan Lykins, Sarah Lykins, and Grace Lykins and five great-grandchildren: Ava DiGregorio, Grayson, Maddy, Evelyn, and Lillie Shoemaker. And, the love for her cherished fur baby, four-pound Sophie, along with numerous extended family and friends.

Mary Ann enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The past couple years, one of her greatest joys was her special bond with her oldest great-granddaughter, Ava. Their love was filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments.

Burial will be at the Calais cemetery.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
