Kathryn Mathena Ragland
Kathryn “Kathy” Ann Mathena Ragland, 57, of Gray, passed away, Sunday June 14, 2026. A memorial service will be held 2:30 PM, Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2617 Vinson Highway, Milledgeville, Georgia. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to All About Animals, Macon Georgia.
Kathy was born June 28, 1968, in Daytona Beach, Florida. She was an adventurous person who loved people which was reflected in her career as a registered radiology technician. Before Kathy started her medical career, she was a licensed aircraft mechanic for Gulfstream. At gulfstream, she met her husband of thirty years, the love of her life, Harry. She saw him walking the flight line and said, “I’m going to marry that man”. After marriage Harry taught Kathy to cook, and she became a great cook. She had the ability to make wonderful meals with whatever she found in the pantry. Her sense of humor was only matched by her intelligence and adventurous spirit. Her ability to comfort and calm patients earned her the nickname Snow White. Kathy also loved animals, stopping on the roadway to help animals, including snakes and turtles, to cross the road safely. Kathy expressed her love to others in service, but she also liked to pamper herself, collecting purses and shoes.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Erin Ragland Grizzard (Mathew); son, Nick Ragland; her parents, Norton Paul Mathena Jr and Mary Kay Mathena; fur babies Cash, Remi, and Lily; and many friends.
This is the only daughter to my youngest sister and her husband who live in Georgia. This is from Sally Mehler.
Arrangements by Harts.
