Barnesville Green Bronco are Ohio Valley League Champions
MOUNDSVILLE — The Barnesville Green Bronco team finished off the season as Ohio Valley League Champions after defeating the Glen Dale Rebels 6-5 in an exciting comeback victory.
They conclude the season with a perfect 18-0 record
Starting on the mound for the Shamrocks was Brogan Shilling. He pitched for five innings while giving up five runs on three hits. Shilling did strike out nine Rebels while walking two,
Austyn Weiss replaced Shilling in the sixth inning as a reliefer. He threw the final two innings and didn’t allow for any runs scored on two hits from Glen Dale. Weiss struck out four on zero walks, earning himself a win on the mound.
Barnesville collected seven hits. Hank Jefferis led the team with two hits, and Shilling had a home run.
Jaxson Humphrey, Colton Roe, Braxton McCloud and Weiss each had a hit in the 6-5 win.
