Urgent Care Clinic is Closed
BARNESVILLE – Four and a half years ago, the Doctor’s Urgent Care clinic opened on the village’s busy east side in a former bank building.
At that time, WTOV-TV 9 profiled the January 18, 2021, opening sharing, ” ‘I actually live here, so to be able to service the community in which I live is a privilege and I’m excited,’ said Olivia Jefferis, a nurse practioner for the office, owned by Dr. Vic Wood”.
“Wood has offices in St. Clairsville and Wheeling, and now, on E. Main St. at the former Southeastern Home Care building in Barnesville,” the television station report noted.

Recent posts on social media, suggested the clinic was permanently closed. The typewritten notice posted on the front door of the office only indicates the clinic is closed “until further notice.”
A call to the Wheeling clinic Friday morning confirmed the clinic is “permanently closed” as of a couple of weeks ago. As with the sign, the employee suggested patients visit the St. Clairsville location.
The building at 875 East Main Street was originally constructed as a branch bank for Wheeling National Bank. When that firm merged with WesBanco, the office was closed.
According to Belmont County Auditor records, the property is owned by Jefferis Real Estate LLC.

More information on the chain may be read on the clinic’s website.
