Bethesda Man Arrested on Drug Charges

ST CLAIRSVILLE – On July 1, 2026, deputies from the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit and Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission executed two search warrants in Bethesda.

Search warrants at 609 Rice Street and 319 South Main Street, lot 7, resulted in the arrest of 36-year-old James Phillips of Bethesda on six drug related charges and booked into the Belmont County Jail on a $35,750 bond.

Sheriff James G. Zusack stated this is part of a continued effort to combat drug complaints in the western part of Belmont County. Sheriff Zusack would also like to thank the Jefferson County Drug Taskforce for their assistance in this case.

Phillips was charged with two counts of Possession of Drugs Schedule I, II, two counts of Traffic in Drugs Schedule I, II, one count of Tampering with Evidence and one count of Possession of drug abuse instruments.
