Lela Francis “Sue” Barton

Lela Francis “Sue” Barton, 62 of Bellaire, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Wheeling Hospital. She was born December 19, 1963 in Bellaire, a daughter of the late Thomas L. and Mary M. Johnson Palmer, Sr.

Sue was a retired housekeeper for Park Health Center and a Christian by faith. She found pleasure in cleaning her home, spending time with her grandchildren and the trips to the beach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jeff Carvoo; two brothers, John and Marshal Palmer.

Surviving are her husband, Carl A. Barton of Bellaire; two daughters, Anna (John) Ward and April Stevey, both of Martins Ferry, Ohio; three grandchildren, Eric Tarvy, Justine Stevey and Laly Logue; a great grandson, Asher; siblings, Bridget Meager of Glencoe, Ohio, Steve Palmer of Martins Ferry, Junior (Crystal) Palmer of Neffs, Ohio, Thomas Palmer, Jr. of Bridgeport, Ohio and Richard (Thersa) Palmer of Morristown, Ohio.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 10 am until time of funeral services at noon at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with Pastor Kris Bright officiating. Burial will follow in Warnock Cemetery.
