Duane J. Hill

 Duane J. Hill, 60, of Quaker City, Ohio passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at his home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

     He was born at Cambridge, Ohio on August 28, 1965 a son of Donna Jean Dimmerling Hill who survives of Quaker City, Ohio and the late Robert Dale Hill.

     Duane was a 1983 graduate of Shenandoah High School, Sarahsville, Ohio. He was a farmer and a former school bus driver for the Noble Local School District. Duane was also a U. S. Army veteran who proudly served his country and was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church, Temperanceville, Ohio.

     Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife, Jane Rusnak Hill whom he married on July 3, 1993; two daughters, Katherine “Katie” (Seth) Jones of Marne, Ohio and  Leah Hill of the home; four sisters, Diana (Andy) Wood of Quaker City, Ohio; Dorothea (Randy) Roe of Salesville, Ohio, Denise (Tom) Thompson of West Lafayette, Ohio, Davina Hupp of Summerfield, Ohio; two brothers, Dana Hill of Caldwell, Ohio and Dayle (Angie) Hill of Quaker City, Ohio.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2026 with vigil services at 7:30 p.m.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Temperanceville, Ohio at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026 with Fr. Dave Cornett and Fr. David Gaydosik as concelebrants.

     Military services will be held at the conclusion of the Mass.

     As per Duane’s request, following services a cremation will take place with inurnment to be held at a later date.
