OVAC Hall of Fame Inductees Includes BHS Track Standout
WHEELING – The 22nd annual Ohio Valley Athletic Conference (OVAC) Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place Saturday, August 15, at WesBanco Arena.
Twenty-one athletes, coaches and special honorees will be recognized. Included in the group will be Ryan Grear, Barnesville High School and Ohio State track standout, who will be honored as one of two athletes of the 1990s honored.
Last June, Grear was inducted into the Eastern District & Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Read the Barnesville Area News account of that ceremony here.
Since 2020, Grear has served as a coach for his alma mater as a Track and Field Coach. He was the Sprint/Hurdle Coach for the 2023 and 2024 Girls’ OVAC Championship Teams and was Girls’ Head Coach in 2025.
As a coach, he was named 2023 Ohio Association Track & Cross-Country Coaches East District Assistant Coach of the Year.
