Barnesville Schools: August Menus and New App
During August, Brian Saner, Director of Food & Nutrition, has been preparing for the students’ return to school by creating menus for breakfast and lunch. Like last year, Barnesville school students receive these nutritious meals for free, with extras for purchase.
The Barnesville Food Service Department is transitioning to SchoolCafe for the online menus. To view the menus, select View as Guest, choose the student’s school, and scroll to the desired date. There is also an app available for the new menu platform. Search for SchoolCafe in the App Store. The app is free.
Saner explained that this menu platform switch supports ADA compliance. SchoolCafe is integrated with the department’s recipe software. “This means families will have access to more accurate nutritional and allergen information directly from the source, rather than having menu data imported into a separate program,” stated Saner.
Saner added that there will be fun pop-ups in the cafeteria throughout the school year, like Sushi and “My Menu, My Birthday” with the building principals.
