Barnesville Football Defeats Buckeye Local 48-7
Barnesville varsity football improved to 4-0 on Friday night with a 48-7 win over the Buckeye Local Panthers, who fell to 0-4.
The Barnesville offense continued to be efficient, with 428 yards on 33 plays for an average of 12.9 yards per play.
Senior Trey Toliver led the way on the ground with 211 yards on six carries and three touchdowns.
Adding to the rushing total were sophomore Mac Boroski with 48 yards on eight carries, and senior Evan Carpenter with 17 yards on three carries. The Rocks’ fourth rushing touchdown came from senior Kaiden Berry.
Through the air, the Shamrocks were nearly perfect with three different passers. Senior Colt Carpenter went 5-of-6 for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore Bane Stephen went 1-of-1 for 11 yards, and freshman Rex Carpenter went 3-of-4 for 44 yards and a touchdown.
On the receiving end, Barnesville spread the ball around, with receptions by seven different players on their nine completed passes. Junior Evan Wells had two receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown. Senior Joel Detling and junior Wyatt Leek each had a touchdown reception as well.
Barnesville will return home next week for a Thursday night game against their neighbors to the south, the 3-1 Monroe Central Seminoles, who are coming off a 40-0 victory over Caldwell.
