America 250 Barn Murals Featured
The September 17 America 250 – Ohio E News featured the America 250 – Ohio Barn Murals program.
“Building on the success and enduring popularity of the Ohio Bicentennial’s barn paintings program from 2003, the America 250-Ohio Commission launched a statewide barn mural initiative to commemorate the nation’s semiquincentennial,” the newsletter notes.
Several murals were commissioned from barn artist Scott Hagan, a resident of Wayne Township, carrying forward the tradition he started during the Ohio Bicentennial.
Many barn owners also joined in the celebration by independently commissioning murals for their own barns. Together, these works create a lasting legacy that will stand to celebrate Ohio’s history and heritage well beyond 2026.
Of the 12 barns, Hagan created and painted nine of them.
