Cross Country at Belmont County Championships

The Barnesville cross country teams competed at the Belmont County Championships held at Union Local on September 16. Barnesville’s junior high boys won the Belmont County Championship title with a score of 27. Martins Ferry finished in second place, and St. Clairsville’s team was third.

The top finisher was Barnesville’s Quin Stephen with a time of 13:19.46. Second place was also a Barnesville runner, Dawson Hanse, with a time of 14:02.16.

The Barnesville junior high girls’ team finished in fourth place. With a time of 15:45.16, Barnesville’s Maya Stephen finished in fifth place overall.

St. Clairsville won the high school boys’ champion title. The high school girls’ title went to Bellaire. The Barnesville High School girls’ team came in third place, while the boys finished in fourth.

Boys’ top finisher, Linkoln Jendrusik, with a time of 19:55.28, came in 11th place. As the girls’ top finisher, Addy Reed came in 6th place with a time of 24:12.14.

Both the high school boys’ and girls’ teams placed ahead of Union Local, keeping the “Milk Glass” trophies at Barnesville High School.
