Barnesville Cross Country at Belpre Invitational
The Shamrock Cross Country teams traveled on Saturday, September 19, to Civitan Park in Belpre, Ohio, to run at the Belpre Invitational. Although not all full teams, 32 schools from Ohio and West Virginia competed. The races had between 150 and 280 runners.
This was Barnesville’s first appearance at the invitational. It was another hot and humid race, but the course was mostly flat. Three junior high runners medaled: Dawson Hanse, 8th; Quinn Stephen, 15th; and Maya Stephen, 20th.
The junior high boys’ team placed 10th, while the junior high girls’ team finished 13th.
Both high school teams finished in 13th place. The high school girls’ team was missing two top runners. The top boy finisher was Linkoln Jendrusik. For the girls, the top finisher was Makayla Vitale.
