Nancy Jane Schmidt

Nancy Jane Schmidt, 79, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away suddenly at her home on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. She was born in Illinois to the late Walter and Cleo (Miller) Zeh.

Nancy was a seamstress for 5 B’s. She enjoyed hand quilting. Nancy was a longtime sunday school teacher. She loved to read and an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

In addition to her parents Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Schmidt; and brothers, David Zeh, John Zeh, Bill Zeh, and Bob Zeh.

Nancy is survived by her sons, John Schmidt of Barnesville, Ohio and Philip (Melinda) Schmidt of Columbus, Ohio; daughters, Mindy Zeh of Woodsfield, Ohio, Naomi (Matthew) Knischewsky of Kitchner, Ontario Canada; grandchildren, Paul Schmidt, Jacob Wilson, David Ramsay, Isaac Zeh, and Steven Ramsay; Leslie Knischewsky, and Gordon Knischewsky; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Nancy’s care has been entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Nancy will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Oaklawn Cemetery in Woodsfield, Ohio
